Prominent personalities including for vice president and presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar and Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal yesterday witnessed the coronation and presentation of staff of office to the Emir of Katagum, Alhaji Umar Farouk II in Azare, Bauchi State.
Other dignitaries include the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu; Minister of State for Industry, Trade and Investment, Ambassador Mariam Katagum; former governors of Bauchi State, Alhaji Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu and Alhaji Isa Yuguda, among others.

The coronation and presentation of staff of office to the Emir of Katagum, Dr Umar Farouk II, is coming five years after his appointment by the immediate past administration in December 2017 to succeed his late father, Dr Mahmoud Kabir Mohammed.
Speaking during the event, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed advised the monarch to emulate the exemplary leadership style of his late father which earned him the respect, love and veneration of his subjects.
The governor charged the traditional institutions to reactivate traditional security systems whereby strangers and suspicious movements are reported to security agencies for investigation and prompt actions.
