A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former spokesman to ex-Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, Segun Showunmi has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed too many ministers, saying Atiku would have constituted a lean cabinet to deliver on their mandate if he was in power.
Addressing a press conference yesterday in Abuja, Showunmi said Tinubu has started changing the portfolios of ministers even before they started their assignments, stressing that it’s “Indicative of trial and error and lack of preparation.”
He said, “It is clear that this government wishes to adopt the rake strategy to mask crass ill-preparedness, flip-flopping around serious issues and deep ‘I-don’t-care’ attitude.
“First, should the government be this large at a time when a lean cabinet seems more needful given the financial state of the country?
