Ali Bappayo Maigoro, an ally of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has emerged as winner of the primaries of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency.
Maigoro is the founder of the North East Business Communities for Atiku Abubakar, a support group that purchased the presidential nomination form for the former vice president during the 2023 presidential election.
He also served as Special Assistant to Atiku Abubakar on Business Community, representing the North-East Zone.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after his victory, Maigoro called on the five other aspirants who contested the primary election to join hands with him in the collective effort to develop the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency.
He stressed that unity and cooperation among party members are essential to achieving meaningful progress for the people.
He also pledged to create employment opportunities, empower youths and women, as well as initiate other developmental projects across the constituency if elected in the 2027 general elections.
Maigoro also expressed profound appreciation to the ADC state, local government and wards executive committees, and all loyal party members who participated in the primary election and entrusted him with their votes.
“I am deeply grateful for the confidence reposed in me. I assure all party members and the people of Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency that I will work tirelessly to justify this mandate and deliver quality representation,” he added.
