Permit me a space to write and draw the attention of Kaduna state ministry of health over the activities of quack medical practitioners who have been operating unhindered in Pambegua community of Kubau local government area. Their unprofessional practices have over the years resulted in the death of many patients and continues to pose great danger to the inhabitants. The community boasts of one functional general hospital and it is being surrounded by other hospitals.

In the last two years, there have been reported cases of unscreened blood transfusion which the patients end up having serious diseases such as hepatitis, HIV or liver problem.

Their quacks practice do not only stop at blood transfusion but also spread to theatre where these quack medical professionals undiagnostically make operation with the little knowledge of the patient’s nature of illness. To make matters worse, even those who operate medical store or chemists are doctors of their own. Instead of selling drugs, these quacks medical practitioners acquire beds where they lure and admit their unsuspecting ignorant patients. Their negative activities have become source of concern and demand expedient action.

The Kaduna state ministry of health through its regulatory agencies should send their representatives to Pambegua community for on the spot assessment to identify these quack doctors. The officials visit will provide them with detailed rot affecting the private hospitals. We hope the ministry of health will come to the aid of Pambegua community which is the victim of quack medical practitioners.
