Attitude of nurses, staff of Dambatta General Hospital

There have been complaints by patients and their relatives over negligence of duty, harassment of patients, intimidation, absence from work, and other attitudes that are uncalled for by the workers.

At the maternity and laboratory sections, which are the central areas of concern, women on labour or on test are allegedly being maltreated, mishandled and harassed by the staff/nurses on duty.

As a result of this conduct of the staff/nurses, we fear and regret to tell you that lives might have been lost on different occasions and that people have remained silent, which is becoming intolerable.

It is our submission that this kind of unprofessional attitude by staff/nurses may lead to legal action if and when necessary.

It is therefore our humble request to ask the management to take necessary steps to address these issues without any further delay, so as to avoid taking legal action against the persons concerned.
