The Atyap, Hausa and Fulani communities in Atyap chiefdom have been urged to work together and contribute their quota to the peace efforts currently taking place in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Global Peace Foundation (GPF), a non-government organisation, while meeting with representatives of the ethnic groups, lamented that the on-and-off crises in the area had significantly taken Southern Kaduna backward in terms of development.

The Southern Kaduna coordinator of GPF, Timothy Machu, also enjoined the  communities to exercise patience in the face of any provocation so as not to escalate any misunderstanding that could arise among them.

In his message, the Country Director, Global Peace Foundation Nigeria, Rev John Joseph Hayab, appealed to all groups to work together as members of one family to restore peace and tranquillity in the area.

“We should not allow the hatred, intolerance and anger about the killings of the past to stop us from rebuilding our bond of friendship and brotherliness,” he advised.
