The Director, Career Services Student Affairs of the AUN, Mrs. Grace Nwokoma, gave the advice at the 8th edition of the institution’s career fair held at Shehu Musa Yar’adua Centre, Abuja.
Nwokoma stated that the fair was aimed at preparing graduates for their future life, adding that it would help them secure jobs from private corporate organisations and reputable universities.
She said since the introduction of the annual fair by the AUN, more than 50 of its graduates have secured jobs through the exercise.
She said that over 40 private organisations and institutions of higher education have participated in this year’s event and many more would join next year.
The director said that the institution will mobilise its graduates for the subsequent exercises.
Also, a graduate of the institution, Sadiq Abubakar, called on Nigerian universities to organise similar fair for their graduates.
Abubakar, graduate of communication and multimedia, said: “That is what we need in Nigeria. Our graduates lack job. The event will help graduates get jobs. They stand a better chance of getting jobs through the fair.”
