Excitement is building within Nigeria’s automotive industry as the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) confirms that all arrangements are in place for the highly anticipated 2025 NAJA Awards, scheduled for Tuesday, next week.
Widely celebrated as the premier automotive awards ceremony in Nigeria, the NAJA Awards continue to serve as the industry’s most respected platform for recognising innovation, excellence, and leadership.
This year’s event is poised to bring together an extraordinary lineup of top auto brands, regulatory authorities, mobility innovators, and sector policymakers.
Speaking on preparations, Frank Kintum, Chairman of the NAJA Awards Organising Committee, described the upcoming ceremony as one of the most competitive and significant editions yet.
“The past year has been transformative for Nigeria’s auto industry—from the rise of electric mobility to groundbreaking vehicle launches and renewed investments in after-sales support. The 2025 NAJA Awards will spotlight these achievements and celebrate the people and organisations behind them,” he said.
Among the distinguished guests expected at the event are the FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, and the Director-General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Otunba Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin. Their presence, organisers say, underscores the award’s growing importance to the nation’s automotive policy, road safety strategy, and the advancement of local vehicle production.
The ceremony will also welcome senior executives from some of the industry’s most influential brands, including Toyota Nigeria, Coscharis Motors, Weststar Associates (Mercedes-Benz), Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), Carloha Nigeria, Briscoe Motors, SAGLEV Electric Vehicles, Jet Systems, Stallion Group, Industrial Project International (IPI), Dangote Sinotruk West Africa, Jetour Auto, GUO Motors, CEDRIC, JeGo Electric Mobility, and many more.
Award categories this year will celebrate excellence across critical sectors: innovation, customer service, vehicle safety, sustainable mobility, commercial vehicle leadership, after-sales service, and local manufacturing accomplishments.
Electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers and mobility-tech startups—key drivers of Nigeria’s emerging clean-energy transport movement—are expected to feature prominently, signalling the industry’s gradual but undeniable shift toward smarter and more sustainable mobility.
