There appears to be no respite for former Nigerian champions, Kano Pillars, as their most potent striker, Auwalu Ali ‘Malam’ suffered a fracture in his left leg during yesterday’s 1-0 loss to Nasarawa United in the NPFL week 37 match at the New Jos stadium.

The fleet-footed attacking winger was taken off during the match for what was suspected to be a crack of the bone but after an –x-ray was done, it was discovered to be a fracture.

The Media Officer of Kano Pillars, Alhaji Rilwanu Idris Malikawa, in a statement said “After an x-ray at Skane Dental Clinic in Jos, it was confirmed that Auwalau Ali ‘Mallam’s injury was actually a fracture in his left leg.

“The player was rushed to the clinic in an ambulance provided by the Plateau State Football Association after he sustained the injury.”

Malikawa also disclosed that Auwalu Ali who is well adored by Kano Pillars fans is currently receiving treatment at the clinic in Jos.

By the unfortunate incident, the CHAN Super Eagles attacking winger who rejoined Kano Pillars from Rivers United at the beginning of the current campaign is effectively out of the remaining week 38 match in the ongoing NPFL season.
