The Nigerian Aviation Hall of Fame has announced plans to host its 2026 induction ceremony in May, where distinguished aviation professionals will be honoured for their contributions to the growth and development of the industry.

The event, which marks the second edition of the Hall of Fame, will recognise a new class of aviators whose achievements, innovation, and commitment to safety have significantly shaped Nigeria’s aviation sector over the years.

Organisers said the ceremony represents the highlight of the Aviation Hall of Fame Forum, bringing together policymakers, airline executives, and global stakeholders to celebrate excellence and legacy in the aerospace industry.

Speaking on the forthcoming event, Co-Organiser Wole Shadare said the initiative aims to immortalise individuals who have made lasting impacts on the sector.

“We are proud to celebrate these industry leaders and enshrine them in the Nigeria Aviation Hall of Fame. Their contributions have shaped the course of Nigerian aviation, and we aim to honour their legacy for posterity,” he said.

Shadare described induction into the Hall of Fame as the highest honour the domestic aviation industry can bestow on individuals who have dedicated their time, resources, and expertise to its advancement over the past six decades.

Also speaking, Co-Organiser Gboyega Adeoye noted that the 2026 edition will be held in collaboration with the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria to ensure a successful outing.

He added that the platform is designed to showcase the best of Nigerian aviation while inspiring future generations of professionals in the sector.

According to the organisers, nominations for the 2026 edition are currently ongoing, with a panel of respected aviation experts tasked with reviewing candidates and identifying individuals with outstanding records and measurable impact on the industry.

The list of inductees will be unveiled in phases in the coming weeks ahead of the main ceremony.

The inaugural edition of the Hall of Fame featured notable figures such as Harold Demuren, Bernard Olumuyiwa Aliu, and Anastasia Gbem, among others, recognised for their outstanding contributions to aviation development.

Organisers disclosed that portraits of the 2026 inductees will be displayed at major airports across Nigeria as a tribute to their achievements and service to the industry.

In addition, a commemorative magazine will be published to document the stories of the honourees and highlight key milestones in Nigeria’s aviation history.

The event is expected to attract top industry stakeholders, aviation professionals, and dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond.
