The Aviation Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association’s Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL) is hosting a conference with the theme ‘Unlocking the Potentials of Aviation Law and Practice in Nigeria’, tomorrow in Lagos.

Commenting on the conference, the chairman of the committee, Mr F. Ajibola Dalley, said it would have in attendance the who’s who of Nigeria’s aviation industry.

He said, “During the morning sessions there will be an honest and robust discussion on the challenges facing the industry and ways for improvement and in one of the sessions the experts will articulate the possible roles for lawyers in this regard.

“Later in the day the legal experts will navigate the jurisdictional rights of the courts in respect of aviation matters and lastly lawyers, particularly the young lawyers, will have an opportunity to garner pointers on key aspects of aviation law and practice,” Dalley said.

According to the organisers, the event presents an opportunity for persons in the aviation industry to catch up and exchange experiences, during the tea break and/or lunch.

The committee is saddled with the responsibility of advancing the practice of aviation law in Nigeria as well as sensitising members of the NBA-SBL and other stakeholders, on the key aspects of aviation law and practice in the country.

The NBA-SBL aims to use these committee engagements to empower Nigerian lawyers with the requisite knowledge that would enhance their competence and global competitiveness and create avenues of fostering lasting relationships in the business environment.
