Ensuring people live in a clean and healthy environment is the responsibility of government.
One of such ways is controlling of plastic wastes such as reuse of plastics, recycling of plastics and making laws against indiscriminate dumping of wastes.
Residents of Gombe metropolis are therefore urged to comply with the objective of the refuse collection centers by dumping waste appropriately, which is in line with the mandate of the Sustainable Urban and Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (SURWASH).
This necessitated the need to recently embark on an inspection visit to some waste collection centres under construction across the state metropolis alongside the Gombe State Environmental Sanitation and Protection Agency (GOSEPA).
The team had visited several areas including Federal Low Cost, Buba Shongo, GRA, Pantami, Bolari, Herwagana, Tudun Wada, Jekadafari and Tumfure.
The aim of the visits is ensuring the standard of building and quality of the ongoing facilities under the programme duly supported by the Gov. Inuwa Yahaya administration.
The inspection exercise had been carried out to make sure the contractors had complied with contract terms to complement the funds budgeted by the government on the project.
