The Abuja Writers Forum, (AWF), celebrates Nelson Mandela, late former president of South Africa at today’s Guest Writer Session. The event will be holding at Aso Hall, Nanet Suites, Central Business District, Abuja at 4pm.
This edition, an extension of the Nelson Mandela Day Celebration, is themed around the life and times of the iconic leader, with talk on contemporary South African literature, poems, short stories and music.
Among those to feature at the event will be Nkemneme Andy Chukwunonye , author of the poetry collection, ‘Letter to Mandela’; Kukogo Iruesiri Sampson, founder of an online poetry platform, ‘Words Rhymes and Rhythm’ (WRR) and author of ‘What Can Words Do ?’ and ‘I Said These Words’; Margaret Hepworth, an Australian author who had to receive permission from the Nelson Mandela Foundation in South Africa to use Mandela as a fictional character in her novel, ‘Clarity in Time’. Also, Dave Adzer, guitarist, singer and songwriter.
The Special Guest of Honour will be the South African High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr Lulu Louis Mnguni.
