Awka, the capital of Anambra State, is set to become the focal point of education innovation this April as hundreds of educators gather for the South East Educators Conference 2026.

The two-day conference, holding April 15–16 at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Awka, will convene over 500 education stakeholders from across Nigeria and beyond to discuss strategies for strengthening teaching, leadership, and learning outcomes in schools.

Convened by education advocate Barr. Doris Chinedu-Okoro, the conference has grown into a flagship platform for professional learning and collaboration among educators in the South East region.

The theme for this year’s conference “Igniting the Advantage: Schools, Systems, and Skills” highlights the urgent need for schools to adopt innovative approaches that prepare learners for a rapidly changing world.

Over two days, participants will explore topics ranging from Artificial Intelligence in education and digital learning tools to leadership development and school performance systems.

The conference will also feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and expert-led sessions designed to help educators rethink how schools are structured and managed.

One of the conference highlights will be the gathering of some of the most respected voices in education and public policy, including renowned global thinkers and practitioners who will share insights on educational transformation.

According to the organizers, the goal is to create a platform where educators can move beyond theory to practical solutions that improve teaching and learning outcomes.

For Chinedu-Okoro, whose leadership continues to inspire many educators, the conference represents a deep commitment to building stronger education systems across Nigeria.
