Taiwo Awoniyi is excited to have scored his first ever goal for the Super Eagles. 

The Union Berlin scored the second goal in the Group D second match against Sudan in the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Cameroon which is first tournament for the senior side.

According to the former U-17 World Cup winner, “I give God the glory, the goal finally came, that will spur me to do more for my country. 

“I want to thank my fans, who believe in me. It’s a thing of joy for me, I give God the glory”. 

The former U-17 player concluded by saying “I look forward to do more for my country”. 

In the same vein, Super Eagles winger has dedicated his goal and man of the match award to his wife. 

“The goal I scored and the man of the Match award is for my wife. I want to thank her, for taking care of our kids at home. 

“I just want to say that it’s been amazing since the tournament started. I remain resolute, I will keep giving my best to the National team. 

“I’m happy that we have 6 points, which has qualified us for the next round of the tournament,” he said after the game.
