The Azza Community Development Association in Niger State has appealed to the state government to repair the dilapidated road that links it with Yaba in Abaji Area Council of the FCT.

In a communique issued on Saturday, at the 10th national convention of the association held at Gulu primary school, it also urged the state government to intensify efforts in refurbishing some of the grounded boreholes in order to cushion the effect of water shortage in the community.

It further urged the government to take appropriate measures to tackle the crisis between herdsmen and farmers in the community.

The communique, which was signed by the national chairman of the association, Alhaji Abdulmalik A. Muye and secretary, Eng. Yunusa Salihu Kuti, was copied to the state governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, members of the House of Representatives from Agaie/Lapai constituency, commissioner for Works and Housing and commissioner for Education.

The association further urged the state government to expedite action on the completion of the  Azza rural electrification project that had been abandoned for decades.

The communiqué added that the abandoned Lapai-Gulu-Muye and Kpada roads, were also in a state of disrepair, and urged the state government to fix them.

"Also, the state of primary healthcare facilities in Azza community is pathetic, and we hereby call on the state government to complete the abandoned Gupa healthcare centre and also take comprehensive measures to equip and rehabilitate the existing health facilities," the communiqué said.
