The Federal Government says members of the Boko Haram sect are incurring the wrath of God by killing innocent Nigerians.

Police Affairs Minister Abdul-Jelili Adesiyan said this in a statement issued today by his media aide, Wale Akinola, to condemn the second bomb blast that occurred at Nyanya, Abuja, on Thursday.

The minister described the explosion as unfortunate, callous, disheartening and unGodly.

He called on the insurgents to stop using God’s name in killing fellow human beings, saying God does not encourage blood letting.
 
“It is very sad and disheartening that scores of people were killed on Thursday in a bomb explosion that also rocked Nyanya area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

“People should stop killing others in the name of God, because Allah does not permit killing neither does He encourage blood letting as being canvassed by the Boko Haram agents.

“Whoever kills fellow human being will have the wrath of God as He frowns on unjust shedding of innocent blood,” Adesiyan said.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to the war against terrorism, stressing that the nation could not afford to allow the killings to continue.

The minister also assured all Nigerians that the country would soon overcome the current security challenges.

Adesiyan also called on Nigerians to be security conscious and united in the ongoing terror war for the nation to defeat the insurgents.

He said the Boko Haram fighters were out to create fear, discredit the Federal Government and incite Nigerians against the incumbent administration.

“The aim of these useless terrorists is to create fear, discredit the government and make the entire citizenry live in perpetual anxiety and turn them against the ruling government. If we unite and fight them by staying focused and reporting all suspicious people to security agencies, we will win this war”, he said.
