Renowned licensed pools and lotto promoter, Chief Kessington Adebukola Adebutu, fondly called Baba Ijebu by his teeming admirers has tasked the federal government and the private sector employers of labour to be more committed to the nagging problem of graduate unemployment across the country.
 Noting that graduate unemployment was a time bomb that may explode if not quickly checkmated, Adebutu counseled fresh graduates in Nigeria to be more innovative like their counterparts in the advanced countries of the world, saying that “they should not be over ambitious but learn to crawl before they walk because most of them are too much in a hurry.”
 The 80-year-old Baba Ijebu gave the advice during a chat with Daily Trust shortly after being conferred with an honorary doctorate degree in Business Administration by the Lead City University, Ibadan. He was honoured alongside three other awardees including Dr. Tunji Olaopa, a retired Federal Permanent Secretary; Chief (Mrs.) Oluremi Oyewole Makele, an educationist and Dr. Ade Abolurin, retired Commandant-General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
 Adebutu, who is the Asoju Oba of Lagos and Asiwaju of Iperu Remo, Ogun State lamented that “graduate unemployment has become a big problem in Nigeria of which not only the government, but entrepreneurs in the private sector should urgently collaborate and step up efforts at addressing.
 “Government should create more jobs. But job creation is not for the government alone. The private sector too should be partners in progress. They should give helping hands.”
