Zulum appoints new Shehu of Dikwa
He succeeds the late Shehu, Mohammed Ibn Shehu Masta II El-Kanemi, who died last week.
Borno state government has appointed Abba Umar Jato the Shehu of Dikwa.
He succeeds the late Shehu, Mohammed Ibn Shehu Masta II El-Kanemi, who died last week.
His appointment as a first-class ruler by Gov Babagana Zulum was announced in a release by the state government.
The death of the late Shehu was announced by the Secretary to State Government, Alhaji Usman Jidda Shuwa in Biu, shortly after presentation of Staff of Office to the Emir of Biu, Alhaji Mai Mustapha Umar Mustapha by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum on last Saturday.
He had been flown to Abuja a day before his death last Friday.
This is the third in the series of high profile deaths in the state within short intervals, after those of Shehu of Bama and Emir of Biu in 2020.
