Rinsola Babajide was a star attraction in the Super Falcons of Nigeria’s 3-1 win over Cameroon in their WAFCON 2026 pre-tournament friendly match on Tuesday.
The second of Falcons’ two-match tour ended in victory for Justin Madugu’s side who overcame an early deficit to put three past their hosts, revenging defeat in the first match.
Babajide weighed in with a goal and assist, with Chinwendu Ihezuo and Michelle Alozie also on the scoresheet in a match that saw seven changes to the Falcons starting line-up.
The Indomitable Lioness took a seventh-minute lead at the Military stadium in Northern Yaounde, but unlike the first match where was no time to respond, the Super Falcons replied in emphatic fashion, with Babajide floating a cross that was headed into the net by Ihezuo in the 32nd minute. The comeback was completed two minutes before halftime when Babajide applied the finish following a scramble in the Cameroon box for 2-1 at the break.
The 10-time WAFCON champions extended their lead through Alozie’s exquisite flying header from captain Rasheedat Babajide’s inviting cross to seal the 3-1 win on 64 minutes.
The Falcons will make their way to Morocco for the 14th edition of the WAFCON taking place in Morocco from 17th March to 3rd April.
