Speaking to Trustsports yesterday, the chairman expressed readiness to bring in few players in some key positions as he said he is only waiting on the team’s technical committee to come up with its proposal.

He said having observed the difficulty faced by the club when players who play in certain positions are not available, he had personally asked the team’s technical adviser to liaise with the technical committee to come up with few names that would be wooed over to the Kano State team.

Babangida mentioned the defensive mid-field and attacking mid-field as the two key positions that need to be beefed up with more players.

He said once any of the established players who play in the mentioned positions are missing, it becomes a serious problem to the team.

He said considering the need for the club to be prudent in its spending, it would not just go for players for the sake of it.

The chairman maintained that the club had identified few players and so it would not be hard for it to make choices when the time comes.

I have directed the technical adviser to meet with the technical committee to discuss what we are going to do in the final transfer window. We would have to make good use of the opportunity given to clubs to strengthen their squads. We have need for defensive and attacking mid-fielders.

“We have identified few players already. I therefore, believe the technical committee would not have problems giving us the list of players they need to beef up the squad. We would be diligent in our choice of players. If we are bringing a player, he must be better than those on ground.

Babangida said there will be no purge in the club as he said Kano Pillars believe in giving every player enough time to prove himself.
