Backing certificate with skill acquisition

Youths are integral part of a nation’s building and development when it comes to population and productivity, surviving in the competitive and changing world poses a great challenge to Nigerian youths which they must overcome to survive wherever they find themselves.

In every generational trend, there are things it come with and goes with. So the need for youths to rise up and take up the challenge for better tomorrow, and that will be determined by what they chooses to leave and interact with in life. For them to achieve their dreams and aspiration in life, they need to seat up and make a turn in their behavior and perspective towards life. Wake up and assume responsibilities as young men and women that the destiny and future of the nation is rest upon them. It is left for them to decide how their future is going to look like.

To be successful, they have to know how to succeed not relying on anybody. Depending totally on government, employer, parents and relatives for everything are some of the factors that contributed to the reasons why youths today are not productive. Most grew up with silver spoon in their mouth, given all they wanted to leave a comfortable life, which at the long run they end up to be something contrary unable to manage and maintain themselves after their parents are no more. Everything squandered with friends and left with nothing. If they don’t mingle with peers that impact them positively, it affects their future. What they see and watch alter their behavior towards their cultural orientation, religion and customs which is causing a great trouble in the society.

Most at times they are being used as political thugs, some engaged in kidnapping, robbery, cultism, oil bunkering, trafficking and some to the extent of terrorism and other vices. Most at times those who felt are rejected, unprivileged to enjoy certain amenities as human beings. Education is the bed rock of the society, so the need for youths to acquire knowledge to excel in life. Not just getting the certificate, but learn skill that will help in sustaining themselves. Study what will you will be self-employed with it. Government cannot give job to every graduate being produced by Nigerian universities, colleges and Polytechnics, this means youths need to choose a career that will help them in future and that will help people in solving one thing or the other.

Nigerian youths should eradicate the materialism  mentality, wanting things to happen overnight “quick money” not worked for, cutting corners in getting what they wanted at all cost. With the little at hand, they squander everything within the twinkle of an eye forgetting what tomorrow will be.

Every Nigerian youth should ask his/herself this question, what should I do to survive? Nigerian youths should imbibe the habit of savings for brighter tomorrow, acquire some entrepreneurial skills to be independent, explore using the internet and be employers of labour.
