The 8th day Fidau prayers in honour of the president of the Badagry Customary Court, Lagos, Barrister Shakirudeen Adesokan Adekola, took place yesterday. Barrister Adekola had died on August 12, 2020 after a brief illness at the age of 59. The Fidau prayers took place at Joel Oguntade Street, Surulere, Lagos.

Barrister Adekola used to sit at the Badagry Customary Court, along with two other laymen that formed a panel that he presided over.

Before his demise, he had worked with the Lagos State judiciary as a Registrar before he became a lawyer. Upon being called to the Bar in 2007, he worked in several departments of the Lagos State judiciary, including the Probate section.

The Baale of Makoko, Chief Raymond Adekunle Olaiya, described Adekola’s death as “as a great shock to many who interacted with his

worship before he passed on.” Adekola is survived by his wives, children and grandchildren.
