Badminton Federation set to host 1st Abuja Open Championship

According to him, all states of the federation have been invited to participate in the championship.“This championship is packaged to identify hidden talents in all the nooks and crannies of Nigeria.

“I strongly believe that this tournament will bring about the objective of organizing such championship,’’ Olumide said. (Audio attached)He noted the identified talents would be nurtured to represent the country in All African game, the Commonwealth game and Olympics.

The BFN Secretary-General said that the federation has provided accommodation for four players from each state at the Federal Capital Territory sports council hostel in area 10.

“States are to be responsible for their transport and feeding during the Championship,’’ he added.Olumide stressed the need for the federation to adhere strictly to the Badminton World Federation competition rules.(NAN).
