In a heartfelt commemoration of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, Baffi Furniture, a prominent furniture company in Nigeria, took a profound step to honor the sacrifices of our nation’s armed forces. The company, based in Nigeria, organized a charity and relief package distribution event that aimed to make a positive impact on the lives of those who have lost their loved ones in service.

The event, held on the 15th of January, saw Baffi Furniture distributing bags of foodstuffs to 150 widows of deceased military personnel. The initiative, in collaboration with the National Defence College Officers Wives’ Association (NDCOWA) in Abuja, aimed to extend support not only to the widows but also to other less privileged families within the barracks community.

The Commandant of NDC, Rear Adm. Olumuyiwa Olotu, expressed gratitude to Baffi Furniture for their thoughtful gesture.

He emphasized that recognizing the sacrifices of armed forces members and reaching out to their families left behind is a profound way to appreciate and remember the fallen heroes.

The donation, which touched the lives of the less privileged in the barracks community, is seen as an encouragement for serving officers and soldiers to continue their dedication to making the country safer.

Mrs. Rhoda Olotu, the NDCOWA coordinator, conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the widows and assured them that the sacrifices of their husbands would not be in vain. She extended gratitude to Baffi Furniture for their support and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of all women and children in the barracks, especially widows, orphans, and the less privileged.

Mr. Idris Yagmahan, the representative of Baffi Furniture, expressed pride in being part of a community that cares about the nation’s protection. He highlighted the company’s dedication to making a positive impact and stated that the relief package distribution was a way of expressing gratitude to the armed forces and those facing life’s challenges. He conveyed heartfelt thanks to the servicemen and women, emphasizing the company’s commitment to supporting them in their dedicated service.

In closing, Air Commodore Darlington Abdullahi, the President of the Alumni Association of the National Defence College, commended Baffi Furniture for their significant contribution. He noted that the donation would greatly support the military widows and encouraged them to utilize the assistance received.

Baffi Furniture, with this benevolent initiative, continues to embody the spirit of community and care. As they express gratitude to the armed forces, they also demonstrate their commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of those who have sacrificed for the nation. The event stands as a testament to Baffi Furniture’s dedication to the well-being of the community they serve.
