Bakwa Magazine, an online literary and culture platform, seeks travel stories in English, French and Pidgin English.

The magazine seeks to interrogate what airports, borders, passports and privilege when travelling mean to the writer. It seeks “fiction and nonfiction stories, critical essays, photography and poems that address these issues.”

It further hopes to explore the roles borders created by imperialism play in stifling mobility in Africa and how Africans are treated by fellow Africans at airports in African countries, and how different it is from their Western counterparts.Founded in the last quarter of 2011, Bakwa Magazine is a magazine of literary and cultural criticism, where discussions on the state and direction of literary and cultural production takes place.

Submission deadline is March 15.
