The Chairman of FCT Football Coaches Association, Godwin Bamigboye has expressed shock over the non inclusion of coaches in the Technical and Development Committee and Technical Study Group recently constituted by the Nigeria Football Federation.
On Monday, the NFF made public the lists of over 130 members appointed into its various standing and ad-hoc committees for the year 2020.
While Alhaji Yusuf Ahmed ‘Fresh’ retains his position as chairman of the Technical and Development Committee, a retired FIFA referee, Dr. Alex Mana is appointed chairman of the Technical Study Group.
Speaking to Daily Trust yesterday, Bamigboye said he still believes the exclusion of coaches is an oversight which the NFF will correct immediately.
He said there are so many experienced coaches in Nigerian football, so having the two important committees without any of them will not augur well for Nigerian football.
“I think it is an oversight on the part of the NFF. I want to believe it is an over-sight because in the last Technical Committee, the president of Nigerian Football Coaches, Ladan Bosso was a member.
“It is not something palatable to see that among the technical committee and technical study group, there is no single coach, especially coaches who are well experienced and have contributed immensely to Nigerian football.
“We expect one of them to be there. Even if Bosso is now a national team coach, they should have considered his assistant, Dr. Salami. There are so many competent coaches.
“I still want to believe it was an oversight. I believe it will be corrected. It is only if nothing is done about it within a reasonable period of time that it will become deliberate,” he said.
