The Kebbi State government has redesigned 10 Land Cruisers vans to bullet proof military amoured vehicles with a view to secure the state from banditry.
The state deputy governor, Col. Ismaila Yombe Dabai (rtd), made this known on Friday while displaying the remodeled vehicles in Birnin Kebbi saying, the redesigned was carried out with in the bid to enhance the provision of military hardware to the military personnel deployed to the state.

Yombe, who personally carried out the redesigning and reconstruction of the vehicles said, the remodeling was necessary in order produce rugged vehicles in order to enable the military to take the war to the bandits even in the most difficult terrain of the state.
“One of the basic requirement for security is transportation. Effective transportation system is key for provision of security for the purpose of arms and ammunitions movement.
“The hard plate fixed on the vehicles, is to provide adequate safety against small fire arms for the driver and the other personnel in the vehicles.
“We choose to change them from civilian to military designed, you can seen we have fabricated an armored cabin for the vehicles and a gun carrier.”
