Bandits have shot dead a vigilante member and abducted four family members in Kasangwai, Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State.
A community leader who confirmed the incident to our reporter on Saturday, said the incident it happened last Thursday, around 10:43pm in the area.
He said the victim, whose name he gave his Alhaji Saleh Adamu, alongside his wife and two children, were whisked away by bandits who invaded his house in the community.
He said Alhaji Adamu, who is into cattle business had just returned from the SCC village market in Kachia LGA, when the bandits, wielding AK-47 rifles and in their numbers, raided his house.

According to him, some vigilantes upon hearing the sporadic gunshots, quickly engaged the bandits in order to foil the abduction but were overpowered, leading to the death of one of their members.
He said contact was established with the abductors on Saturday, around 5:12pm and they were demanding N30 million ransom.
The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, could not be reached for confirmation of the incident at the time of filing the report.
