Bandits have reportedly abducted a couple, identified as Dano Aliyu Haruna and his wife, Habiba Haruna, in the Janjala community of Kagarko Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
A resident of Janjala, Adamu Ahmad, stated that the incident occurred on Monday at about 9:45 pm when bandits, wielding sophisticated weapons, invaded the community.
He noted that the assailants went straight to the victims’ residence and whisked them away at gunpoint.
A community leader in the area, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, also confirmed the abduction.
He further disclosed that several neighbouring communities, including Gidan Makeri, Iddo, and Akoti, as well as some nearby Fulani settlements, have been deserted by residents following a series of bandit attacks in the axis.
While a local police source confirmed the latest abduction, the spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, had yet to react to the incident as of the time of filing this report.
