Bandits have abducted a woman, Sahura Tanimu, along with her four children in Kohoto village near Janjala in Kagarko LGA of Kaduna State.

A resident, Zayyanu Bala, said the incident occurred on Tuesday around 9pm when the bandits, wielding sophisticated weapons, invaded the community, went straight to the victims’ house while the husband was away and whisked her and the children away amid heavy gunfire.

A community leader, who requested anonymity for security reasons, said, “Upon receiving a distress call from Kohoto village, I tried to reach out to the soldiers in Kagarko, but their numbers were unreachable.”

He added that the abductors were yet to contact the victims’ family.

Calls placed to the police spokesperson in the state, ASP Mansur Hassan, were not responded to.
