Bandits on Tuesday attacked a Mobile Police (Mopol) base in Garagi, Yartsamiyar Jino Village in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Residents said the attack resulted in the deaths of four security officers, with one officer sustaining injuries.
They added that the assailants also took away the officers’ rifles during the incident.
In addition to the security casualties, two civilians from the local community were also killed by the attackers.

A resident of the area, who wished to be anonymous, said the attackers razed classrooms at the primary school in Tsamiyar Jino, which had been used as a camp by the security forces.
Attempts to reach the Katsina State Police spokesman, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, for comment were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
