Bandits have freed 10 of their victims from the 14 people abducted three weeks ago in Gefe community in Kujuru LGA of Kaduna State.
City & Crime earlier reported that two among the 14 victims escaped after their abductors dozed off in their camp.
But instead of releasing the remaining 12 victims after collecting a N11.5m, the bandits freed 10, insisting on another N4m for the two victims that escaped last week before the remaining two in their captivity would be freed.
A community leader, who preferred anonymity, told our reporter through telephone on Thursday that the bandits made the demand on Tuesday after releasing 10 among the remaining 12 victims.
He said, “The families were expecting that the remaining 12 victims would be freed after they (bandits) accepted to collect N11.5m, but on Tuesday, the bandits’ leader freed 10 and held down the remaining two.”
The spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Hassan Mansur, could not be reached for comment on the development.
