Four suspected female informants, sex workers and cooks working for bandits residing in Rugu Forest in Katsina State have been arrested by the police. They are Bilikisu Abubakar (24) and Razika Amadi (25) who were arrested during a raid at their hideout at Runka Village in Safana Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

Others are Zulai Dahiru (45) and Rakiya Yusufu (20) who were arrested in Tudu Village, during the sting operation, police said.

Parading the suspects, the spokesman of the police in the state, SP Gambo Isah, said the suspects had since confessed to be informants, sex workers and cooks to the following bandits residing in the forest: Ruga Kachalla, Jume Basullube, Sumaye, Haruna Dun, Autan Kachalla, Yahuza Mai-Bakar Kama, Lawalli Adda, Babban Yara and Dogo. “Similarly, one Nasiru Aminu (40) of Runka Village in Safana, an okada rider, working as an errand boy and informant of the bandits was arrested” Isah noted. He added that one Shuaibu Abubakar (40) of Tsamre Village in Birnin Magaji was also arrested while transporting six bags of food items and one 25-litre jerry can of palm oil to bandits in Rugu Forest.
