Bandits injure man, seize motorcycle in Kaduna community

Armed bandits have attacked a young man and seized his motorcycle in Unguwar Kasarane village along the Kaduna–Abuja road.
The victim, identified simply as Isa, was reportedly assaulted while gathering firewood in the bush. He is currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained during the attack.
Residents said the assailants have increasingly targeted villagers who venture into the forest for farming and firewood collection, often dispossessing them of their motorcycles.
A community leader, who spoke on condition of anonymity for security reasons, said the incident occurred on Sunday, adding that fear of attacks has forced many residents to abandon their farms and other means of livelihood.
He added that the attackers often resort to violence if victims resist, noting that motorcycles are taken regardless of their condition.
The community leader appealed to security agencies to intensify efforts to protect residents, saying the village is under increasing threat.
Efforts to get the reaction of the Kaduna Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mansur Hassan, were unsuccessful as calls to him were unanswered as at the time of filling this report.
