The Surubu Community Development Association has condemned the killing of three of its members by bandits in Kusheka and Kabene, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The victims, identified as Obadiah Dangana, Emmanuel Moses (popularly known as Bobbling Guy), and Danjuma Sardauna, were reportedly kidnapped on March 22, 2025.

However, despite paying ransom as demanded by the abductors, their bodies were later discovered in the forest by security operatives.

In a statement by the association’s National Public Relations Officer, Comr. Caleb Bala Magaji, the community expressed concern over the persistent insecurity in Kumana Chiefdom and other parts of Kauru LGA.

It lamented the rising rate of kidnappings in the area, stating that many residents remain in captivity even after ransom had been paid.

 “We are calling on the government and security agencies at all levels to intensify efforts in restoring peace to our land by bringing the perpetrators to justice and securing the release of those still in captivity,” the statement said.

The association acknowledged the recent establishment of a Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Kauru LGA but urged the authorities to set up military checkpoints in Kusheka, Kabene, and Geshere to enable quick response to distress calls.
