Bandits rustle 400 cattle, burn houses, food in Plateau village

Bandit Rampage

Bandits on Monday evening invaded Pinau, a village in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State and burnt down many houses and stored food items.  

Ubale Musa, a resident, told our correspondent that the bandits also rustled about 400 cattle belonging to herders of the area.

He said, “When they arrived in the area, they started shooting sporadically in the entire area. They didn’t face any resistance during the attack because there was no security presence. They rustled 400 cattle and kidnapped two herders. We are calling on the government to deploy security in the area.”  

The spokesperson for the police in the state, ASP Ubah Gabriel, had yet to reply to a text message sent to him as of the time of filing this report.  

Daily Trust reports that Pinau village has been experiencing banditry and kidnapping activities in recent times.  

At a time, youths in the area with the assistance of security personnel were able to curb the activities of criminals.
