Bandits shoot vigilante, abduct 3 farmers in Niger

Gunmen have shot and injured a vigilante and abducted three farmers at Ajiji-Kapako community in Lapai LGA of Niger State.

City & Crime reports that Ajiji-Kapako community shares boundary with Gurdi village in Abaji Area Council of the FCT.

A resident, Saidu Aliyu, who explained that the incident happened on Saturday around 2pm, said, “Some of the farmers were harvesting and some weeding their beniseed farms when the bandits invaded the farms and kidnaped three of them.”

He further said, “The vigilantes on patrol were attracted by the gunshots and they engaged the bandits in order to rescue the victims but one of them was shot on the leg.”

The spokesman of the Niger State Police Command, ASP Wasiu Abiodun, asked our reporter to give him time to enable him to reach out to Lapai Division.
