Bankole’s, Daniel’s aides, 68 others join APC

All the new members are prominent political office holders, including former House of Representatives members, House of Assembly members, council chairmen and party leaders in some local government areas of the state.
The state governor, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun assured that a level playing ground would be provided for the new decamped members as APC is an encompassing party for all.
Among those who have formally pitched tent with the new party, is the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) communication matters to the former Speaker, Chief Kayode Odunaro, his Political Adviser, Afolabi Afuwape and his Ogun central co-ordinator and former Chairman of Abeokuta South local government, Chief Dare Gbolahan.
The Daniel supporters, who have found heaven in the new party, included former commissioner, Fatai Sowemimo, Prince Bolaji Aretola among others.
Amosun who spoke with newsmen said he welcomed the development, saying he was happy about it. He disclosed that the decampees had long shown eagerness to join APC, but he told them to wait for the appropriate time.
“They have been calling me, asking to join but I told them to wait for the appropriate time. Truly, they want to join and I’m happy over this. They have demonstrated that they are genuine,” he said.
However, the governor called on all the new entrants to the APC to see the development as a way to resolve whatever political differences they might have had.
“We must look for a way to reconcile. Everybody should be seen as prepared to work,” Mr. Amosun charged them.
