The bank’s Executive Director, North, AbdulKadir Bello hwo led UBA’s delegation told Governor Ali Modu Sheriff that the bank shares in the grief of the people and government and prays that such incident does not occur again in any part of Nigeria and the entire world. Bello presented the cheque to Sheriff.

On the part of Fidelity, the bank’s Regional Manager, North, Halilu Malabo handed over items which comprised 20 bags of rice, 25 cartons of spaghetti, 17 bags of maize, and 30 pieces of mattresses, among others to the governor.

Malabo whose bank equally commiserated with the government and people said the gesture was part of corporate social responsibility to the host community.

Malabo who described the violence as unfortunate, commended government and security operatives for their timely intervention which brought an end to the carnage and prayed Almighty God to forestall its recurrence.

Governor Sheriff thanked the two banks which visited separately, for their gestures.

He assured that government will ensure prudent utilisation of UBA’s cash donation and will also make sure that the items donated by Fidelity reach the appropriate victims.
