Barau FC have asked Ladan Bosso to step aside as Technical Adviser, bringing his stint at the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club to an end following the conclusion of the first stanza of the season.
The decision was confirmed in a statement issued by the club’s management, which said the move was aimed at re-energising the technical department in order to improve results and align performances with the club’s ambitions. The “Maliya Boys” have consequently directed Bosso’s assistant to take charge of the team on an interim basis.
In a follow-up announcement, Barau FC confirmed the appointment of Rabiu Tata as interim technical adviser, with the former assistant assuming immediate responsibility ahead of upcoming league fixtures.
The former Flying Eagles coach joined the newly promoted side in July 2025, on the eve of their maiden NPFL campaign.
Under Bosso’s guidance, Barau FC recorded five wins, six draws and eight defeats in 19 league matches. The team finished the first round of the season in 17th position on the NPFL table with 21 points, a run of form the club hierarchy deemed inconsistent for their debut top-flight season.
Despite the mixed results, Bosso enjoyed some notable moments in charge, including a memorable 4-1 victory over former league champions Rivers United, which stood out as his best result at the club.
