The decisive moment arrived in the 27th minute when Uche Moses fired a thunderous effort into the roof of the net from close range, a strike that ultimately separated the two sides. The goal sent the home supporters into celebration and set the tone for a gritty contest dominated by tactical discipline rather than flamboyance.

Ikorodu City, known for their attacking intent and fluid play, pushed hard for an equaliser, making multiple substitutions in the second half in search of inspiration.

Peter Ita’s 75th-minute strike sealed the win, despite Warri Wolves’ resistance and Kwara having to manage injury concerns during the game.

At Remo, Plateau United produced a resilient performance to defeat Remo Stars 2–1, despite the hosts being reduced to ten men early on. Jonathan gave Plateau the lead in the 28th minute, Albert Korvah equalised for Remo just after the hour mark, but Harrison Ebah’s sensational stoppage-time goal sealed all three points for the Peace Boys in dramatic fashion. The fixture itself was preceded by logistical chaos, with multiple venue changes forcing Plateau United into a taxing travel schedule.

Meanwhile, El Kanemi Warriors’ fixture against Kun Khalifat was officially postponed. The match could not take place after Kun Khalifat failed to arrive in Maiduguri for the scheduled encounter.

In line with league protocol, match officials waited the mandatory 15 minutes before declaring the game abandoned, with a final ruling now expected from the league organisers.
