Barau Football Club yesterday formally unveiled former Super Eagles forward, Dominic Iorfa, as its new General Manager, alongside Alhaji Kabiru Baita, who was named Vice President.

The unveiling ceremony, held in Kano, was presided over by the Club President, Shawwal Barau Jibrin, with top management, board members, coaches, officials, and players in attendance. Both officials have since assumed duty.

Welcoming them, the club’s Chairman, Ibrahim Shitu Chanji, urged the appointees to uphold integrity and unity. He assured them of management’s full support toward ensuring Barau FC’s sustainable growth and successful campaign in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) this season.

In his address, President Shawwal Barau Jibrin praised the appointees, describing them as patriots committed to taking the club to greater heights. He also promised improved welfare and motivation for players, coaches, and staff.

Vice President Kabiru Baita and General Manager Dominic Iorfa both expressed gratitude for the opportunity, pledging to strengthen the club’s standing in the NPFL.

“Kano has the highest fan base for any football club in Nigeria, so I am happy to be the GM of this new club and from what I have seen so far, I am convinced with the club’s performance. My biggest target now is for the team to remain in Nigerian Premier League, Iorfa said.

Barau FC, privately owned by Senator Barau I. Jibrin, Deputy President of the Senate, is making its NPFL debut this 2025/2026 season after finishing second in the 2025 Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 playoffs.
