Barcelona produced a second half masterclass to demolish Newcastle United 7-2 in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie.

The Blaugrana win the tie 8-3 on aggregate to advance into the quarter final stage for the third consecutive season.
Barcelona scored a last-minute penalty to secure a draw in the first half, but they were in majestic form in the second leg despite suspect defending, with Raphinha and Robert Lewadowski both scoring a brace each. Marc Bernal, Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez were the other goalscorers.

Both sides exchanged four goals in the first 28 minutes, with Raphinha and Bernal putting the Blaugrana ahead twice but were pegged back by Anthony Elanga’s brace that also kept Newcastle in the tie before a penalty on the stroke of halftime converted by Yamal put Barcelona ahead at the break.

The hosts then ran riot with four goals in the second half, including a Lewandoski brace that makes him the third highest goalscorer in UCL history with 36 goals.
