Bashiru Muhammad, an indigene of Sokoto State, has been elected President of European Nigerian Students’ Association.
The Master’s student studying Accounting & Finance at London Coventry University secured 326 out of 400 of total votes cast in an fierce contest held in Istanbul, Turkey.
He defeated three other contestants.
Since the establishment of the association in 2001, this is the first time a northerner would be elected to lead Nigerian students in Europe.
The new president would lead the union of nearly three million members for a tenure of four years.
