The Men’s Basketball Premier League final 8 tournament is billed to dunk off on Thursday, November 11-18, 2021 at the Indoor Sports Hall Package B of the MKO Abiola stadium Abuja.
Following the impasse in the Nigeria Basketball Federation, the competition which was kicked off by the former board of the NBBF will now be organised by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
Consequently, the Sports Ministry in a statement issued yesterday by Director of Press and Public Relations, Mohammed Manga, stated that it had concluded arrangements to host a hitch-free final 8 competition.
It will, therefore, be recalled that the National Premier Basketball Men’s League play- offs that took place at both Atlantic and Savannah Conferences in Akure, Ondo State, and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, produced the final top 8 teams that will compete in the Men’s final Premier League.
The teams that will slug it out in Abuja are River Hooppers, Kwara Falcons, Lagos Islanders, Police Batons, Kano Pillars, Gombe Bulls, Nigeria Customs and Benue Braves.
Teams are expected to arrive on 11th and depart on 18th November, 2021.
The winner of the final 8 tourney will represent Nigeria at the Basketball African League scheduled to hold later in the year.
