Federal University Dutse (FUD)

Immediately after the end of Professor Jibrilla Dahiru Amin’s tenure as Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutse (FUD) confusion and perpetual fear griped the entire FUD university community, especially to people of Jigawa State and its catchment areas. This happened as a result of both administrative and infrastructural achievements of J. D Amin. In addition to his interwoven and intertwined coordination with the ex-registrar Mal. Yusuf Adamu. No doubt, FUD, during J. D Amin and Yusuf Adamu’s short time, witnessed revered, unexpected remarkable developments. Professor Amin and Yusuf Adamu, as people with unblemished record of service, planned to achieve higher feats in FUD. But unfortunately, quick expiration of the pair’s tenure didn’t permit them to do this. As a result, considering the aforementioned, this university needs persons with required expertise to consolidate the laudable achievements of Professor J. D Amin and Mal. Yusuf Adamu. Appreciatively, with her appointment as Vice Chancellor of Federal University Dutse, Professor Fatima Batul Mukhtar, also, with combined effort of her superb registrar, Mal. Bukar Usman, FUD can presently stand shoulder to shoulder among its peers. Impressively, despite doubt some expressed during her appointment, Fatima is proving right the confidence reposed on her by President Muhammadu Buhari. The daily actions of this model of morality are clear indication to us, FUD under her tireless watch will one day be ranked as world class university. Not only so, another reason that will provoke one to commend her with rhapsodic remarks is, the administrative structure put in place, and numerous infrastructures of both lectures and administration, for quick learning and administrative processes to take place, FUD can compete, or more so, stand above erstwhile older universities. Honestly speaking, judicious and prudent management of free-flow of resources from Dr. A.B. Baffa’s TETfund, and other tertiary fund-raising agencies, brought numerous number of advancements to Dutse university. In this digital world, the way computer science students received lectures with personal computers, and a fixed projector on the wall, must leave every concerned educational stakeholder speechless. You can’t believe your eyes if you see FUD’s male dormitories. Before Fatima’s coming on board, no good road that will link male students with their different dormitories, as a result, students find it difficult to reach their respective hostels. But presently, a road that linked the students directly with their various hostels has been fully constructed. In a nutshell, I must say, indefatigable labour of Batul Mukhtar is taking FUD to higher levels. Although, this will not surprise those who knew the wherewithal this rare gem possessed, particularly during her short stint as a pioneer Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC) of Northwest University.
As Vice Chancellor of FUD, this untiring woman is fully discharging her responsibility through adequate and close monitoring of entire sections of that university. If work didn’t take her outside the country, hardly a whole week passed, without giving unscheduled visit to both male and female hostels. Although, there is an exclusive division soled with responsibility to monitor this department, doing this, plays a significant role in ensuring safety of that environment and safeguarding the lives of the students.
