Bauchi Women Coalition For Women’s Inclusion, Equity and Good Governance has appealed to the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in the state to pick a female as deputy governorship candidate ahead the 2027 election.
The women appealed to the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) gubernatorial candidate, Senator Shehu Buba Umar, to accede to their demand because women and youth are the majority of voters
In a statement signed by Hajiya Hajara Musa, its Director Media and Communication, the women explained that “they believe that women’s inclusion in leadership strengthens governance, promotes social development, and ensures that the voices of women, children, youth, and vulnerable groups are adequately represented in government
They said choosing a woman deputy gubernatorial candidate will make a positive impact to the party ,and it will serve as a good strategy that will help to win the heart of the majority of voters .
The group reaffirmed its commitment to promoting women’s political participation by declaring its support for the emergence of a qualified woman as Deputy Governor of Bauchi State in the 2027 elections and expressed support for the party’s gubernatorial aspirant Senator Shehu Buba.
