Bauchi State has confirmed three new cases of COVID-19, bring the total number of infected persons to 80 in the state.

Executive Chairman, State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, and Chairman Surveillance and Contact Tracing sub Committee of the Taskforce Response Committee on COVID-19 in Bauchi, Dr Rilwanu Mohammed disclosed this on Wednesday during media briefing on COVID-19 in the state.

He said that out of the samples taken to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), three persons have been tested positive for COVID-19.

Mohammed explained that 73 patients are under admission, adding that six persons have been discharged while 820 contacts were listed with 236 currently under follow-up.

He added that a total number of 688 results have been received out of the 840 specimens collected.
