Bauchi first lady wants girl-child education compulsory in Nigeria
She said this in Abuja while receiving the Most Valuable Governor’s Wife Award.

Bauchi State governor’s wife, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, has called for a policy to make girl-child education compulsory in Nigeria, saying the low enrolment of girl child in schools is unacceptable.
She said this in Abuja while receiving the Most Valuable Governor’s Wife Award.
She said, “My focus areas are in so many areas. I’m focused on the girl child education and mothers’ education. We’re already on it. We also have about 100 women back to school and we are going to expand it to cover every LGA in the state so that they all can enjoy what their colleagues are enjoying.
“Education is the first priority for every human being. That’s how it’s all over the world and even in the Qur’an. Everybody who wants to be wealthy become a leader, you must become educated,” she said.
The wife of Katsina State governor, Hajiya Zakiyya Masari, equally called for a legislation that would make gild-child education compulsory in every state.
Team leader/CEO, Most Valuable Governor’s Wife Awards, Nigeria, Tom Obulu, advocated special courts to handle cases of violence against women.
He said that this would enable women talk without fear, and also for special funds for the violated women.
